SENTINEL BEAST: Another New Song Posted Online

Reactivated '80s Sacramento, California thrash band SENTINEL BEAST has posted another new song, "Forbidden Territories", on the group's MySpace page. The track is expected to appear on the group's second full-length album, "Risen", tentatively due later in the year. The group says, "We are very eager for the new release as it has been 22 years since the thrash-defining 'Depths of Death' and we feel this album is nothing less than a crushing masterpiece that will melt faces and help put SENTINEL BEAST back on the metal map as a thrash pioneer."

SENTINEL BEAST recently parted ways with bassist Nic Atomica X. According to the group, "Nic decided to leave the band to pursue his career as a recording engineer." His replacement is Steve Oliver, who also hails from the San Francisco Bay Area.

SENTINEL BEAST was formed in Sacramento in 1984 by Debbie Gunn, Mike Spencer (bass),and Scott Awes (drums). During this time, the axes were played by Greg Williams and Jerry Fraiser, later to be replaced by Barry Fischel and Mark Koyasako. Discovered by Kerry King of SLAYER, the band recorded and released the influential "Depths of Death" album, on Metal Blade Records, in 1986 and the band later went on to open shows for the likes of SLAYER, EXODUS, MEGADETH, MERCYFUL FATE, KING DIAMOND, and others. The band broke up and Debbie Gunn departed for Chicago shortly after to front ZNOWHITE, then relocated to Europe to join the all-female thrash pioneers, ICE AGE.

SENTINEL BEAST's current lineup consists of Gunn, Oliver, Kenny Eckhart and Dana Lindstrom on guitars, and Scott Fuller on drums.
